The main idea- Jesus Christ himself is the source and substance of everything in our Christian walk; we receive everything we need for our spiritual life directly and exclusively through our union with him. (Col 2:6-10).

The implications- Nothing of earth, regardless of its apparent usefulness, has any part to play in our spiritual walk, for it is not of Christ (col 2:17-23)
