1) Jesus builds his church by joining his people to himself in a direct, exclusive union which transforms them into individual expressions of his infinite nature and arranges them into a body capable of acting on his behalf. (4-6)
2) Jesus builds his church around himself so that he might be magnified as the central point on which the eternal fate of all things is determined. (7-10)
